Thomas has been a core developer of Jupyter and IPython for several years, since before the notebook interface was created. Within the project, his work focuses on the core Python execution machinery, the IPython terminal interface, and tools for handling Jupyter notebooks as documents, such as nbconvert. Before getting paid to work on Jupyter and IPython, he studied crop plant evolution.
