Authentication is always a mess. Django offers nice tools, but they don’t speak REST. Using a set of standard libraries and a few simple endpoints, comes modal-auth, a stand-alone authentication framework for integration with pure js front-ends that relies on JWT and a simple API to enable easy integration with other parties. The system relies on Django Rest Framework, Djoser and Django-Rest-Framework-JWT to deliver the various parts as REST APIs. The system enables in addition the integration with Social Authentication both via static web redirects as well as token-based app authentication. The tool is delivered as a Django project as well as a Docker Image.
